Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced Wednesday that the state government will allocate land for establishing a regional centre of the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan.

Speaking at the 25th anniversary of the Hindi department at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Khandu revealed that the Centre has approved the proposal and that land allocation will commence immediately. Attending the event was Kendriya Hindi Sansthan Director Professor Sunil Baburao Kulkarni.

Highlighting Hindi's role as a link language in Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu emphasized the importance of enhancing the quality of Hindi spoken in the state. A Kendriya Hindi Sansthan centre will address this need, he said, adding that Hindi unifies the state's diverse tribes and communities. The existing network includes eight regional centres, with three in the Northeast.

Congratulating RGU's Hindi department on its silver jubilee, Khandu lauded its students for excelling in various literary fields. He encouraged the university to take an active role in refining the state's Hindi, which could strengthen connections with the rest of India and establish Arunachal Pradesh as a hub for Hindi learning and promotion.

Khandu noted that proficiency in Hindi presents substantial benefits, notably in the entertainment industry, as it has allowed many from the state to succeed on national platforms like Bollywood and Hindi singing reality shows. He asserted that bolstering Hindi skills will unlock more opportunities for Arunachal Pradesh's people across diverse fields.
