Senior RSS functionary Sunil Ambekar on Wednesday confirmed that there is no demand at the grassroots level for RSS shakhas to include boys and girls together. He emphasised that 'society is not asking for it' and that any structural changes would only occur if such a demand arises.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Ambekar highlighted that the current structure, which separates male and female participants, is efficient as it stands. He noted that the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, an all-women organization, has been fulfilling a similar role to the RSS since the 1930s. 'The basic structure of RSS is shakha. This structure is for the man-making process,' he said.
Addressing concerns about women holding significant positions within the RSS, Ambekar said, 'Society is not asking for girls and boys to play together. The current structure is a matter of convenience.' He also commented on the ethnic clashes in Manipur, stating that RSS workers are actively working to establish peace in the region.
