Singer-songwriter and guitarist Keith Urban provided an emotional update regarding his wife Nicole Kidman's mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, following her passing, E! News reports. 'We're getting through,' he stated, adding that the tragedy has brought the family closer.

Urban highlighted the support from Kidman's fans, noting, 'She feels it. Thank you.' The couple shares two daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13. This update comes just over two weeks after Janelle Ann Kidman passed away at the age of 84, around the same time Nicole attended the Venice Film Festival to support her film 'Babygirl'.

Due to the timing, the film's director, Halina Rejn, accepted the Best Actress award on Nicole's behalf, during which she read a statement from Nicole: 'Today, I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after, that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed,' the statement, read by Halina, revealed. 'I am in shock and I have to go to my family.'

The statement also conveyed Nicole's heartfelt gratitude: 'But this award is for her. She shaped me, she guided me, and she made me. I'm beyond grateful that I get to say her name to all of you through Halina. The collision of life and art is heartbreaking, and my heart is broken.' Kidman had hinted in 2022 that her mother had been battling health issues.

In a joint statement, Nicole and her sister Antonia Kidman thanked everyone for their kindness amid their mother's passing. 'My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,' they wrote on Sept. 12. 'Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express.'

'Thank you from our whole family for respecting our privacy as we take care of each other,' they concluded, reports E! News. (ANI)
