CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury's death has been described as a significant loss for the Left movement in India, according to senior party leader Prakash Karat.

Karat noted that despite the BJP's weakened state in the last Lok Sabha elections due to the INDIA bloc, challenges remain. Former CM Manik Sarkar also emphasized the importance of intensifying the Left movement to safeguard the Constitution.
