The awards recognized four forest soldiers from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala for their relentless efforts to protect India's wildlife. Each honoree received a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 for their dedication. Additionally, two individuals were honored for their work in elephant conservation.
Cricket legends and public figures emphasized the importance of recognizing these unsung heroes. The KSCA Tiger Cup, part of the Cricketers for Conservation initiative, also promotes awareness of conservation efforts among the youth through the sport of cricket.
