The Telangana government is contemplating the launch of a 'one state-one digital card', aimed at streamlining access to welfare schemes, ration under the Public Distribution System (PDS), and health services. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, during a meeting with ministers and officials, emphasized the card's potential to facilitate availing services anywhere in the state.
The proposed digital card will include the 'health profile' of each family member, ensuring long-term access to health services, Reddy noted. The CM has directed officials to study similar digital card initiatives in Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Haryana and to report their findings.
Reddy also instructed that a pilot project be initiated in rural and urban areas across each Assembly constituency. Furthermore, he called for a district-wise monitoring mechanism to oversee the system's implementation.
