UK Scholars Shine in Wolfson History Prize Shortlist
London-based academics Joya Chatterji and Nandini Das have been shortlisted for the prestigious Wolfson History Prize. UK-based academics Joya Chatterji and Nandini Das are among six prominent authors named on the shortlist for the prestigious GBP 50,000 Wolfson History Prize in London on Monday.
Delhi-born Chatterji, a Professor of South Asian History at Cambridge, is shortlisted for 'Shadows at Noon', chronicling the history of the British Raj and India's Independence and Partition.
Kolkata-born Das, Professor of Early Modern Literature at Oxford, is in contention with 'Courting India', examining the early British influence on the Indian subcontinent. These works stand alongside historical analyses spanning multiple centuries and regions, chosen for their rigorous research and compelling storytelling.
