In a show of solidarity, Maratha outfits called for a bandh in Latur district on Monday to support activist Manoj Jarange, who is on an indefinite hunger strike over the demand for reservation under the OBC category.

Hundreds gathered at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, taking part in a massive motorcycle rally across Latur city and urging business owners to shut their establishments. As a result, shops remained closed, and educational institutions were shut down following prior notice.

Jarange has been persistently demanding the implementation of a draft notification to recognize Kunbis as blood relatives of Maratha community members and to grant them OBC reservation. He initiated his sixth indefinite fast on September 17 to press for this demand.
