Sikh Student Attacked Amid Tensions at Delhi University

A Sikh student was assaulted and his turban forcibly removed by fellow students during a violent clash at Sri Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College under Delhi University. The disturbing event, which was caught on video, has sparked widespread criticism online.
The incident occurred as the student nominations for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, scheduled for September 27, were underway. The Sikh student, identified as Pavit Singh Gujral, a second-year student, recounted his ordeal in the FIR filed with Maurice Nagar police station.
Gujral stated in the FIR, "They forcibly removed my turban, beat me, and pulled my kesh (hair). I was attacked by the group and I am not feeling safe in the college. I feel that my life is at risk." A senior police officer confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the accused. The college administration has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
