The Tourism Employees Association has raised concerns over the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) resorts' development plans through a public-private partnership. They have called for a peaceful protest starting on World Tourism Day, September 27.
The Paryatan Karmachari Vikas Sangh, in a letter dated September 19, urged tourism employees to join the agitation by wearing black ribbons as a mark of protest. They are opposing the Maharashtra government's move and are demanding bonus and increment benefits for contractual employees.
