Lightning Strike in Chhattisgarh: Tragic Picnic Turns Deadly
An 11-year-old boy was killed and eight others injured in a lightning strike during a picnic in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district. An 11-year-old boy was tragically killed and eight others were injured in a lightning strike in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir-Champa district on Sunday, according to police.
The incident occurred at 3pm in Sukali village while 22 people were having a picnic near a pond, as reported by the City Kotwali police station.
After seeking shelter under a tree due to rain, seven youngsters and two children were struck by lightning. Chandrahas Darvesh was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. The remaining injured individuals are currently in stable condition and receiving treatment, officials confirmed.
