On Sunday, Israeli troops raided the offices of Al Jazeera in the West Bank, ordering the bureau to shut down as part of a broader campaign targeting the Qatar-funded broadcaster amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
Footage aired by Al Jazeera's Arabic channel showed Israeli troops ordering the office to be closed for 45 days. This followed a prior raid in East Jerusalem earlier this year. Despite the crackdown, Al Jazeera continues to operate in Gaza and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate and the Palestinian Authority condemned the action, alleging it as a threat to journalistic freedom, while Israel claimed the network incited terror and endangered public security.
