Actor Sumeet Vyas firmly believes that theatre, unlike movies, serves as an 'actor's medium' as the performer on stage commands the flow of the show. Known for his roles in movies like 'English Vinglish' and web series 'Permanent Roommates,' Vyas co-wrote and featured in the play 'One on One Dhamaal' at the Delhi Theatre Festival, advocating that the live medium offers instant audience response and greater actor control compared to cinema.

'In cinema, actors have virtually no control over the final product, from editing to directorial vision to audience reception,' he shared in an interview with PTI. He noted the remuneration for stage actors has significantly improved from a few hundred rupees per show to thousands, making it a more viable profession today.

Vyas admitted to not participating in new stage productions recently due to conflicting commitments but is hopeful for fewer breaks in the future. He expressed a desire to see superstar Ranbir Kapoor on stage, praising his truthful and mysterious performances. 'One on One Dhamaal', featuring various Mumbai-based actors, addressed diverse topics from marriage to Bollywood and urban living, strengthening the theatre's critical role in contemporary dialogue.
