The opposition Congress and the ruling LDF ally CPI have condemned a report by ADGP M R Ajithkumar which allegedly denies any outside interference in the disruption of Thrissur Pooram 2024.
On Sunday, news outlets revealed Ajithkumar had submitted his probe report on the festival's disruption. The Thrissur Pooram, held on May 19, was interrupted, prompting government action against the city police commissioner and assistant commissioner.
The Congress leader V D Satheesan and CPI's V S Sunil Kumar voiced doubts over the report's legitimacy, calling for a judicial investigation. An RTI reply added to the controversy, suggesting no inquiry was conducted, further fueling the demands for transparency.
