In the fragmented political landscape of Maharashtra, perception management has become crucial ahead of the assembly polls. In this context, a Marathi play on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's life and a sequel to a film on his mentor, the late Anand Dighe, are set to be released soon.
The play, titled 'Mala Kahi Tari Sangaycha Aahe -- Eknath Sambhaji Shinde', is anticipated to be released after 'pitrupaksh', which concludes on October 2 next month, while 'Dharmaveer Mukkam Post Thane 2' will hit the screens on September 27. The original 'Dharmaveer' film was released in May 2022, just before Shinde's split from the Shiv Sena and his alliance with the BJP, leading to the collapse of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government.
Veteran theatre personality Ashok Samel, who is presenting the play, stated that it will positively showcase Shinde's character, illustrating his rise from a humble background to his current position as chief minister. The play and film aim to influence perceptions and gain political traction in the political arena of Maharashtra.
