Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Saturday declared that the state government will take stringent actions against anyone found to have been involved in adulterating Tirupati laddus with animal fats.

In a recent NDA legislative party meeting, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu slammed the previous YSRCP government, accusing it of using substandard ingredients and animal fats in the popular and sacred sweets of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple. These allegations have now been backed by NDDB lab reports.

Lokesh added that Naidu will decide on initiating a CBI inquiry into this controversy. Besides the investigation, structural changes are also being contemplated to ensure such irregularities do not recur. The government aims to streamline the process, with TTD, the custodian of the temple, playing a crucial role.
