Veteran CPI(M) leader M M Lawrence, who played a crucial part in the 1950 Edappally Police Station attack during Kerala's Communist uprising, died on Saturday, according to party sources.
He was 95 years old and had been receiving treatment for age-related ailments at a private hospital.
Lawrence, a former Lok Sabha member from Idukki, held various positions within the CPI(M), including Central Committee member and state general secretary of CITU. Born on June 15, 1929, he actively participated in the independence struggle.
