On Wednesday, Taiwan-based Gold Apollo acknowledged its brand was on the pagers that exploded in Lebanon and Syria during an alleged Israeli operation targeting Hezbollah's communication network. However, the company clarified that Budapest-based BAC Consulting KFT was responsible for their manufacturing.
The explosions, occurring near-simultaneously on Tuesday, killed at least nine people and injured nearly 3,000, including an 8-year-old girl. Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have accused Israel of orchestrating the sophisticated remote attacks.
Hezbollah, condemning the incident, has promised to continue its aggressive stance against Israel. Meanwhile, Lebanon's Health Ministry reported severe injuries among the wounded, with several patients requiring limb amputations. International aid has begun to arrive to assist in medical treatment.
