The iconic Taj Mahal's main dome faced water leakage following three days of persistent rainfall, causing a garden within the premises to become submerged.

A video capturing the flooded garden went viral on Thursday, catching the interest of visiting tourists.

Nevertheless, the Archaeological Survey of India, Agra circle, assured that the leakage was due to seepage and caused no damage to the dome.

Rajkumar Patel, Superintending Chief of ASI, confirmed the leakage but stated that an inspection using a drone camera revealed no harm to the structure.

Local residents, such as tour guide Monika Sharma, emphasized the monument's significance to Agra's tourism industry, urging sustained maintenance.

Continuous rainfall has led to widespread waterlogging issues across Agra, including highway blockages, flooded crops, and choked posh areas. The Agra administration responded by closing schools.
