Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (retd) K T Parnaik on Friday affirmed the state's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during a discussion with students from Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) at Raj Bhavan. He outlined the current status and challenges in sectors like education, health, infrastructure, and tourism.

The students from Gandhinagar-based RRU, who were on a two-week visit to the northeastern state, toured Zemithang, a prominent border village in Tawang district, according to an official statement.

Parnaik praised the state's progress amid several ongoing infrastructure projects, commending both the RRU and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for facilitating the tour. He called for more student exchange programs to foster entrepreneurship, create awareness about Arunachal Pradesh, and strengthen goodwill among youth.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Parnaik urged the students to prepare as future leaders to realize this vision. ITBP NE Frontier headquarters DIG Shendil Kumar, School of Internal Security and SMART Policing TM Commandant Devansh Trivedi, and faculty member Latika Grover also briefed the governor about the tour and students shared their experiences.

A total of 24 students of Bachelor of Arts in Security Management and Master of Arts in Police Administration, along with four faculty members, attended the interaction program.
