KOZHIKODE (Kerala) [India], September 13: DC Books, a premier name in Indian publishing, recently celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years of significant contributions to Malayalam literature and Kerala's cultural identity. The main events took place in Kozhikode and Thrissur, featuring notable speeches and new book launches.

The celebration kicked off on August 29, 2024, at the Muhammed Abdhurahiman Sahib Memorial Jubilee Hall in Kozhikode, a UNESCO City of Literature. The event, 'Devoted to Literature,' showcased Kozhikode's deep literary heritage, emphasizing the roles of DC Books and the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) in cultivating a vibrant literary culture. Established and emerging authors interacted with readers, adding vibrancy to the event.

DC Books' Managing Director, Ravi Deecee, stated, 'This milestone is a celebration not just for DC Books, but for the entire literary ecosystem in Kerala.' Highlighting the event was the 26th DC Kizhakemuri Commemorative Oration by Manu S. Pillai, who engaged the audience with insights into historical narratives. The Golden Jubilee festivities continued in Thrissur on September 7, 2024, featuring a keynote by M. Mukundan and a compelling oration by Ramachandra Guha, who explored the intersection of history and literature.
