The Kids India 2024 trade show, a pivotal event for the toy and children's products industry, has commenced at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. Organised by Spielwarenmesse India Pvt Ltd, the three-day event will run until September 14, aiming to showcase the industry's latest innovations.

The event enjoys support from major industry bodies including the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) and The All India Toy Manufacturers' Association (TAITMA). Its management falls under the purview of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, indicating a strong international collaboration.

Ute Brockmann of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce emphasized India's growing economic potential, saying the country's dynamic market offers significant opportunities for the toy industry. The event also highlighted the industry's trajectory towards surpassing USD 3 billion by 2028, largely driven by the ''Make in India'' initiative and rising consumer demand.

Tarun Dewan of SGEPC noted that Indian manufacturers are aligning with global safety standards while exploring new growth avenues in exports. Meanwhile, Manish Kukreja of TAITMA spoke on the industry's shift towards eco-friendly and educational toys, showcasing a commitment to innovation and sustainability.
