The highly anticipated musical fantasy film 'Wicked: Part Two' has a new release date. Directed by Jon M Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, the movie is now scheduled to premiere on November 21, 2025, as per a report by Deadline. The film was initially slated for November 26, 2025, by Universal Pictures.

The change was made to avoid clashing with Disney's release of 'Zootopia 2.' 'Wicked: Part Two' delves into the untold stories of the young witches of Oz. Elphaba, played by Cynthia Erivo, is misunderstood due to her unique green skin and has yet to realize her true power. In contrast, Glinda, portrayed by Ariana Grande, is popular and privileged, but unaware of her true heart. The film features an ensemble cast, including Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.

This sequel is the latter half of a two-part film adaptation of the stage musical 'Wicked,' created by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman. The musical is based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, which itself draws from L. Frank Baum's classic 1900 novel 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.' Supporting roles are filled by Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.
