Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro, Americans recently coming off their career-best Grand Slam performances at the US Open, will compete against each other in an exhibition event at Madison Square Garden on December 4. Four-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz will also feature in a match against Ben Shelton.

The line-up for The Garden Cup was revealed on Thursday, marking the return of tennis to MSG for the first time since 2018. This venue is primarily home to the NBA's Knicks and NHL's Rangers.

Pegula reached her first Grand Slam final at Flushing Meadows before narrowly losing to Aryna Sabalenka. Navarro stunned defending champion Coco Gauff in the fourth round before falling to Sabalenka in the semi-finals.

Both Pegula and Navarro are currently ranked in the top 10 of the WTA rankings. Alcaraz, with recent wins at the French Open and Wimbledon, exited in the second round of the US Open, which he won in 2022. Shelton, whose best Grand Slam run was a semi-final appearance in New York last year, lost to Frances Tiafoe in the third round this time.
