In a concerning incident, the statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district was desecrated by unidentified individuals, as reported by the local police on Thursday.

Angered by this act, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders organized a protest and chanted slogans. Following the demonstration, a new statue was swiftly installed at the site.

The desecration occurred in Bahadurpur village under the jurisdiction of Fefna police station on Wednesday night. Law enforcement has lodged a case and commenced an investigation into the matter.

Brijmohan Saroj, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Fefna, confirmed that a case was registered against unknown persons based on a complaint by Akhilesh Kumar. The incident drew a large crowd of BSP leaders and supporters who gathered at the spot to express their outrage.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Kant, along with a police force, also attended the scene. The SHO assured that the new statue has been placed, and the situation is now stable with police presence as a preventive measure.
