Stage Set for Enchantment: India Habitat Centre Theatre Festival Begins

The India Habitat Centre Theatre Festival is set to captivate theatre enthusiasts in New Delhi from September 20. Over the course of ten days, 12 stage productions will be showcased.

The festival will kick off with Jerry Pinto's solo performance, 'A Life in Poetry,' blending writer, actor, director, and performer talents. Veterans like Manav Kaul, Akarsh Khurana, and others will also display their works. Notable plays include Akarsh Khurana's 'This Time,' exploring mid-life crises, and Marathi musical 'Kalgitura' by Sachin Shinde, highlighting rural Maharashtra's folk traditions.

Expected to conclude on September 29, the festival will include a diverse range of narratives and styles, said Vidyun Singh, creative head at India Habitat Centre. The event aims to establish a national platform for Indian theatre and expand its audience base.
