Renowned actor Michael B. Jordan, celebrated for his directorial debut with 'Creed III', is set to both helm and star in a new adaptation of 'Thomas Crown Affair'. This project is being developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and will be exclusively released in theaters worldwide, according to Deadline.

According to Deadline's sources, Jordan will direct and play the lead role in the film through his production company, Outlier Society, partnering with Elizabeth Raposo. Outlier Society holds both a first-look film deal and an overall TV deal with Amazon MGM.

This upcoming film marks the third iteration of 'Thomas Crown Affair', following its 1999 version featuring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, and the 1968 original with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. Jordan's role promises to offer a fresh take on Thomas Crown, blending his charisma with complex character depth.

After 'Creed III's' remarkable success, setting a franchise record with a USD 58.6 million opening and grossing USD 276 million globally, Jordan is excited to dive back into directing. The film's script, written by Drew Pearce, builds on drafts by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson, with plot details still under wraps.

Jordan and his team are currently seeking a co-star to complement his performance and enhance the film's appeal. Producers include Patrick McCormick, Marc Toberoff, and executive producer Alan Trustman, who wrote the original 1968 screenplay. (ANI)
