Rory McIlroy doesn't see the made-for-TV match between PGA Tour and LIV Golf stars as a mere message but as a peek into the future possibilities and what has been missing since golf's major split.
McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will face Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau in December in Las Vegas. So far, they've only played together in four major tournaments this year.
McIlroy, an early critic of Saudi-funded LIV Golf, is now advocating for more frequent top-player matchups. After serving on the PGA Tour board, he resigned but remains part of a negotiating committee.
