Restored Bronze-Age Jar Returns to Museum Display After Child's Accident

A rare Bronze-Age jar, accidentally smashed by a 4-year-old visiting a museum, was back on display Wednesday after restoration experts meticulously pieced the artifact back together.

Last month, a family from northern Israel visited the Hecht Museum in Haifa when their youngest son tipped over the jar, breaking it into pieces. The boy's father, Alex Geller, recalled his first thought as, 'please let that not be my child.'

The jar had been on display for 35 years and was one of the few complete containers from its period. Restoration experts used 3D technology, high-resolution videos, and special glue to reconstruct the artifact, now back on exhibit with a new sign reading 'please don't touch.'
