Assamese actor, choreographer, and social media influencer Sumi Bora, who faces a 'Look Out' notice in connection with a multi-crore stock market scam, has stated her intention to surrender to authorities on Wednesday.

From an undisclosed location, Bora announced her decision to fully cooperate with the police, citing defamatory media reports about her and her family as the reason for her surrender. She clarified that she had been in hiding due to the mental harassment caused by these reports, not because she was absconding.

Bora criticized the media for conducting what she described as a 'trial' against her, asserting that less than 10 percent of the reported allegations were true. Despite feeling unprepared initially, she expressed confidence that the courts would deliver justice based on evidence rather than media speculation.

The Assam Police had issued 'Look Out' notices against Bora, her husband Tarkik Bora, brother Rajib Bora, his wife Jinki Mili, and two others for failing to appear for questioning regarding the scam. Last week, 22-year-old Bishal Phukan, accused of running the fraudulent scheme, was arrested along with his manager. Investigations revealed Phukan's lavish expenses on Bora, including her high-profile wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The case has been taken over by the CID, with a Special Investigation Team assigned to probe the allegations thoroughly.
