The Generation Green campaign, launched in July 2024, aims to empower young people to advocate for sustainability through green skills and corrective actions. The initiative, overseen by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and OPPO India, has already onboarded 5,000 interns from over 20 states and 3 Union Territories in its first phase.

The second phase of the campaign began with a nationwide electronic-waste (e-waste) awareness drive at Ramjas College, University of Delhi. This institution is now recognized as the first 'Eco-Conscious Champion Institute' under the programme. During a two-day event, students from various college societies participated in diverse activities aimed at promoting responsible e-waste disposal.

Key dignitaries, including Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairperson of the National Education Technology Forum (NETF), lauded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of embedding sustainability within the education sector to inspire wider societal change. The campaign aspires to engage over 10 lakh students by the end of 2024, empowering them to manage e-waste effectively and adopt sustainable lifestyles.
