Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, best known for his impactful performances in TV series such as 'Karamchand' and films like 'Maqbool', has revealed his interest in returning to comedic roles. Kapur, who has not ventured into comedy for a while, attributes this to a lack of suitable scripts in the genre.
'I haven't done comedy in a while, and I'd love to do it,' Kapur said. 'Lately, there seems to be a perception of me as a very serious actor, and the scripts that come my way are often rather crude.'
Despite his comedic ambitions, Kapur continues to explore his passions for writing and directing. His latest directorial work includes the 2011 film 'Mausam', and more recently, his writing endeavors produced the novella 'Dopehri'. Kapur's latest acting role was in the Netflix series 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack', and he will next appear in 'Binny and Family'.
