Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday highlighted the critical issue of man-animal conflicts, attributing it to the reduction in forest areas. His remarks were made during an event at Lok Bhavan where appointments of 647 forest guards and 41 junior engineers were announced.

"If the forests burn, the environment will be damaged, resulting in landslides and negative impacts on both wildlife and humans due to untimely climate change," said Adityanath. He emphasized the need for forest-wildlife protectors to educate local residents to curb the conflict.

This statement coincided with the capture of a fifth wolf under the 'Operation Bhediya' campaign aimed at controlling a pack of wolves that have caused fatalities in Bahraich's Mahasi tehsil. Adityanath also stressed the significance of electric and solar fencing to protect settlements neighboring forests.
