Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Tuesday visited southeast Delhi's Madrasi Camp, where residents face eviction notices to pave the way for a new flyover. Sisodia vowed that the party would 'strongly fight against dictatorship to save people's houses.'
The Public Works Department (PWD) issued eviction notices in the Old Barapullah Bridge area last week, urging locals to vacate their homes within five days. In response, residents have refused to leave unless provided with an alternative site. 'Injustice against slum dwellers will not be tolerated in 'Bulldozer Raj.' If LG sahab and BJP try to remove or demolish their houses, we will not tolerate it at all. We will fight strongly against dictatorship to save people's houses,' Sisodia posted on X in Hindi.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has historically provided shelter and built houses for those in need, Sisodia noted. 'Free electricity, water, and better education for children have been our focus. But the BJP has only destroyed well-established homes. We will fight this from the court to the streets,' he added.
