The White Stripes Sue Donald Trump for Unauthorized Use of 'Seven Nation Army'
The White Stripes have filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump for using their song 'Seven Nation Army' without permission in a campaign video. The band opposes Trump's policies and actions, and the case follows other legal disputes between musicians and the Trump campaign.
The White Stripes filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump on Monday, accusing him of unauthorized use of their iconic song 'Seven Nation Army' in a social media video. The video featured Trump boarding a plane for campaign events in Michigan and Wisconsin.
The case, brought in federal court in Manhattan, asserts that band members Jack White and Meg White strongly oppose Trump's policies and actions both during his presidency and in his current campaign. This lawsuit adds to a series of legal challenges Trump has faced from musicians over song use.
Just last week, a federal judge in Atlanta ordered Trump and his campaign to cease using 'Hold On, I'm Coming,' following a lawsuit by the estate of Isaac Hayes Jr. The Trump campaign has not yet responded to requests for comment on the latest suit.
