TMC MP Dev and Kunal Ghosh Clash Over Hospital Inauguration

Ghosh criticized Dev for seemingly re-inaugurating facilities already opened by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Dev clarified that the machines had just arrived, hence his involvement.

TMC MP Dev, popularly known as Deepak Adhikari, and senior party member Kunal Ghosh were embroiled in a social media dispute on Saturday over the inauguration of new medical facilities at a state hospital in Ghatal, situated in West Bengal's Paschim Medinipur district.

The conflict began when Ghosh shared a photo of a plaque that credited Dev with the inauguration on September 4. This was contrasted with another plaque showcasing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's name and photo, indicating that she inaugurated the facilities on March 11, 2024.

Ghosh's post elicited a response from Dev, who explained that the machines for the unit arrived just a week ago, necessitating his involvement at the behest of hospital authorities. He stressed that the primary beneficiaries of the new facilities would be the local community and not the political figures involved. Dev also cautioned Ghosh to verify facts before making social media comments. The dispute also touched upon Dev's association with film industry gatherings that included political opponents, further escalating tensions.
