A mural honoring ancient and modern figures in medicine, displayed in Pfizer's original New York City headquarters for over 60 years, is at risk of disassembly if conservationists fail to secure a new location within weeks.

“Medical Research Through the Ages,” a colossal metal and tile mosaic, has been a landmark in Pfizer's midtown Manhattan office lobby since the 1960s. The building's conversion to residential apartments demands the mural's relocation by September 10.

Conservationists and the late artist's daughters are urgently seeking financial backing and an institution to display the piece, estimated to cost thousands to move and remount.
