Three children sleeping together in fear of elephant attacks died of a snakebite in Jharkhand's Garwah district, police confirmed on Friday.

The tragic incident unfolded in Chapkali village under Chinia police station jurisdiction, where 8 to 10 children were sleeping on the floor when a Krait snake entered their home and bit three of them on Thursday night.

Rushed to a sorcerer at 1 am and later to a quack, all three victims—Pannalal Korwa (15), Kanchan Kumari (8), and Baby Kumari (9)—tragically died. This has forced villagers to find safer sleeping arrangements amid the ongoing elephant menace.
