Ireland's consumer watchdog has launched an investigation into Ticketmaster, following a surge of complaints about the handling of Oasis ticket sales. This move comes a day after British regulators announced a similar probe.
Thousands of fans found themselves in lengthy virtual queues, only to be met with soaring ticket prices under Ticketmaster's 'dynamic pricing' scheme for the upcoming Oasis reunion shows.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission received over 100 complaints from disgruntled fans, prompting what they deemed an 'in-depth investigation.' The commission has vowed to take action if consumer protection laws are found to have been violated.
