Singer Halsey has opened up about her struggle with health issues, including a diagnosis of T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder which she discovered on her 28th birthday. According to a report by People, this painful revelation coincided with a special day for the artist and had significant repercussions for her music career.

"I had a baby and I was on my tour, and it was my 28th birthday when I got the confirmation of my T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder diagnosis," Halsey shared. This challenging period had a profound effect on her creative process, especially as she was working on her album 'The Great Impersonator.'

The 'Badlands' singer expressed her disorientation following the diagnosis. "I'm always writing about conflict and tragedy and transgressions, and I felt that I didn't have anything to write about. The universe was like, 'Yeah? What about this?'," she added. Her doctors advised that her career might complicate her recovery, suggesting she might need to 'quit your job' for improvement.

During the making of 'The Great Impersonator', Halsey grappled with existential questions. "If I spawned in any other decade, or any other parallel universe, does it always go this way? Do I always end up Halsey? If I end up Halsey, do I always end up sick?" she pondered. As she promoted her single 'The End', Halsey also updated fans about her health via Instagram. "In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both are currently managed or in remission," she wrote.
