Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, unveiled a life-size statue of the late Congress leader Patangrao Kadam in Sangli district on Thursday. The statue stands at Wangi, commemorating Kadam's service in the Palus-Kadegaon assembly seat over numerous years.

Following the statue unveiling, Gandhi visited a museum dedicated to Kadam, also located in Wangi. The event saw attendance from several high-profile leaders including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC in-charge Ramesh Chennithala, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, Kolhapur MP Shahu Chhatrapati, former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, state Congress chief Nana Patole, and Congress Legislature Party Balasaheb Thorat.

In addition to the event in Sangli, Gandhi called on the family members of the late MP Vasant Chavan in Nanded during the morning and is scheduled to address a public meeting later in the day.
