Guwahati Set to Host the 1st Asian Film Festival Next February

The inaugural Guwahati Asian Film Festival (GAFF) is scheduled for February next year, as announced by the organizers on Thursday. The event, happening from February 7-9, aims to showcase some of the prominent movies from Asia and Northeast India.
Festival director Monita Borgohain stated that the three-day fest will be a landmark event, shining a spotlight on unique voices from Northeast India. Borgohain expressed confidence that GAFF will become an indispensable part of Assam's cultural calendar.
The festival will feature a competitive section with cash awards for films from Northeast India, as well as a non-competitive section celebrating exceptional Asian and Indian films. Notable advisory board members include film critic Srinivasa Santhanam, national award-winning critic and filmmaker Utpal Borpujari, and music journalist Dalton Christopher. Film submissions are now open.
