A foundation stone was laid on Wednesday for a mega temple dedicated to Shri Lord Venkateshwara in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The event saw the presence of senior Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials and industrialist Gautam Singhania.

IAS officer J Shyamala Rao, Executive Officer of TTD, and Venkaiah Choudhary, Additional Executive Officer of the trust, were also present. The grand shrine, replicating the renowned Balaji Temple at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, had its foundation stone laid on June 7, 2023, by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.

The Raymond Group is constructing the temple on a 10-acre plot allocated by the state government. Chairman and MD Gautam Singhania emphasized the project's cultural and spiritual importance, committing to its timely completion to serve as a revered worship center. The temple location is near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.
