Renowned actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has voiced his concerns over the prevailing market dynamics in the film industry, describing them as 'unfair.' In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Siddiqui elaborated on the discrepancy between actors catered by the industry and those popular among the general public.

'They are unfair (market forces). There are two types of actors, one for the industry and one for the public. The films of the actors for the public are not reaching the people. On the other hand, the films of the industry actors are being released in 5,000 theatres, irrespective of whether the audience likes them or not,' Siddiqui explained.

Discussing the multiple factors that contribute to the commercial success of a project, he added, 'Commercial success depends on a lot of factors... There is not one person involved—there is publicity, marketing, screening count, and more.' He lamented the limited screenings of certain films, saying, 'Our films usually wrap up at around 200-300 screenings... they have shows in the morning and at night.' Emphasizing the need for fair play, Siddiqui said, 'At least run our films in 5,000 theatres, or even 3,000 theatres... Then judge me.'

Known for his versatile roles in films like Black Friday, Peepli Live, Gangs of Wasseypur, and series such as Sacred Games, Siddiqui continues to captivate audiences. After a successful stint in the music video 'Baarish Ki Jaaye,' he is set to enthral fans with 'Saiyaan Ki Bandook,' a collaboration with songwriter and composer Jaani. His recent role in Anand Surapur's directorial 'Rautu Ka Raaz' earned him critical acclaim for his portrayal of a cop.
