Nawazuddin Siddiqui needs no introduction. Renowned for his transformative roles, the actor has secured a special place in the hearts of audiences. His character Ganesh Gaitonde from 'Sacred Games' became iconic, particularly his memorable dialogue, 'Kabhi Kabhi lagta hai ki apun hi Bhagwan hai'. Despite being part of both seasons, Nawazuddin holds the first season in higher regard.

In an interview with ANI, Siddiqui confessed his preference for season 1, explaining that season 2 did not connect with audiences as effectively. He attributed this to the introduction of several new characters, which weakened the beloved original characters. He stated, "Of course season 1. There were new characters in season 2, so it didn't work. When you weaken characters that people loved initially, audiences won't accept it."

'Sacred Games', based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 novel, is an Indian neo-noir crime drama that follows cop Sartaj (Saif Ali Khan) and his encounters with the most-wanted criminal, Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The star-studded cast also includes Radhika Apte, Pankaj Tripathi, and Kalki Koechlin, among others. Siddiqui compared the series to the American crime drama 'Narcos,' explaining that weakening core characters can alienate the audience.

Reflecting on his famous dialogue, Siddiqui shared, "I used to wonder about this dialogue. I found it strange. Never knew it would become so popular." He added, "There is a kind of energy from the director and actors, and a magical atmosphere which cannot be recreated." Nawazuddin Siddiqui is celebrated for his work in 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'The Lunchbox', and 'Manto', earning numerous accolades, including a National Film Award. (ANI)
