India is poised to redefine its maritime strategy, as outlined by Sanjeev Sanyal, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council. Speaking at the curtain raiser for 'Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue,' Sanyal emphasized the need for India to rethink its investment and utilization of maritime resources.

Ports and Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the dialogue's role in fostering new ideas on maritime governance. According to him, the platform aims to enhance India's global maritime interactions and future-oriented ocean policies.

The event, scheduled for November 18-19, 2024, aims to tackle pressing issues like the blue economy, maritime logistics, and diversified supply chains, aligning with India’s vision for sustainable development and greater maritime role by 2047.
