Kangana Ranaut's anticipated film 'Emergency' has faced another hurdle as the Bombay High Court refused to expedite its release amid directives from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The MP HC had instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to review objections from Sikh groups before issuing certification.

Initially set for a September 6 release, 'Emergency' will now be delayed for two weeks. The CBFC is required to address the concerns and certify the film by September 18. Producers Zee Entertainment sought relief from the Bombay HC, arguing the certificate was ready but not issued due to potential law and order issues.

A division bench of Justices B P Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla acknowledged the producer's claim but upheld the MP HC order, citing the need for judicial propriety. The bench stated that any relief granted would breach the existing directive from the MP HC.
