A glass bottle-hurling incident during a Ganpati procession in Dombivli city of Thane district led to a scuffle that left five individuals injured, police reported on Tuesday.
The event took place on Sunday night within Tilak Nagar police station's jurisdiction.
A 22-year-old man named Ganesh allegedly threw a glass bottle at members of a minority community in the procession, causing injuries to three people, including himself. This action incited further confrontation, leading to two additional injuries.
Authorities registered an FIR under section 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint. Investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made so far.
