The UK government has announced plans to investigate the significant surge in concert ticket prices on official websites, a move triggered by the soaring costs fans faced for next year's Oasis reunion shows. Culture Minister Lisa Nandy expressed concerns over 'vastly inflated prices' on authorised retailer sites, which she believes could prevent some fans from attending.

As part of an ongoing review of ticket sales and consumer protection, the government will examine the transparency and impact of dynamic pricing—a strategy where prices rise with demand. 'Working with artists, industry, and fans, we can create a fairer system that ends the scourge of touts and rip-off resales while ensuring tickets are fairly priced,' Nandy stated on Sunday.

House of Commons leader Lucy Powell revealed she paid £350 ($460) per ticket from an official retailer, more than double the original face value. Oasis, who announced 17 shows across the UK and Ireland, saw all tickets sell out within 10 hours as fans queued online. ($1 = 0.7616 pounds)
