A 40-year-old software employee allegedly killed his wife and two children before taking his own life at their Jeedimetla apartment, police reported on Sunday.

Authorities stated that the incident occurred on Saturday night. The man's wife was in her mid-30s, while their children were aged three to 11.

The man had sent a distress message to his parents in Mancherial district and recorded a selfie video explaining that substantial losses in online betting drove him to this desperate act, police said. His parents subsequently alerted the police, leading to the registration of a case and an ongoing investigation.
